& this brings up another point/reason that I was about to inject into this discussion > I will almost Never shut My Van off while the Rad’Fan is On & since I live about 600ft above Downtown ABQ, pretty much every time I am returning home from down there during Summer Months, the Temp will rise to the 198º point & fan will come on & generally be on when I arrive in My driveway, so I have Myself in the habit of switching the fan On High a few blocks from home which will lower the temp back into the Mid 180s just before backing into driveway & I shut down & the Van is happy & so I am happy ~ As to Your question, Eric, about Eng’ off so no H2OPump action,,, It’s a valid question but I have always suspected that some Convection flow does possibly happen due to the cooling of the Rad’ as long as the T’stat is open ~ ORR ~ DeanB

The water pump is off so what real good can that be doing except running down the start battery? > > But, so far it has not been a problem so I just smile and walk away even as the small air plane noise continues from the parking spot. |
