Subject: Defroster repair success

A small thing for you van care folks , but I take joy in my successes.

Thanks again to Bruce for the fuse diagram.

I returned to the large defroster wire that had broken off inside the hatch Gromit. It was found when adding theGW third brake light.

I don’t trust my wiring skills, but they have improved from the time when David Beierl taught me how to use a crimping tool, one evening in my VT kitchen after a West River Westies Campout.

So, I prepped the wire and put on the connector and covered with heat shrink. Now, the defroster works and all is back in place.

I tested it by using my talking infrared thermometer. The window quickly rose from 50 degrees to 60 degrees in a few minutes. I turned off the defroster at that point.

Another success with input from the list.

Eric
