When I clean the bulb socket I notice there is a kind of white chalky substance on the bottom and on the wall of the socket. My guess is the corrosion/acidity residue on the metal piece. Lifting it up will help tighter contact after cleaning it. btw... the curved piece on the bottom is + (positive).
