Well, it was all my fault!

My friend was concerned that the van was getting too hot and the temp sensor not opening so that the coolant would flow. Still some air in the system.

So, in our attached garage with doors open, and attic steps open with outdoor vent we would try to bleed for 10 minute or so and just when radiator would start to warm my friend would stop because the temp indicator went over the red light.

We did this like three times, letting it cool between.

Finally I had it and I kept the revs up a bit and it got warmer but not much over the red light, then, suddenly the temp dropped to normal. Some air came out the radiator bleeder, and the back was all filled up and no bubbles. This took longer, maybe 15 20 minutes.

A happy cooling system and no leaks.

Two very tiny O rings on the old 1.9 engine bleeder did the trick in the back. A spare is on my shelf.

Then Lunch, and some other work, and a test drive of the other van, and while away, almost 4 hours from the running engine the Carbon monoxide alarms go off all over my house. There is no vent to the garage attic, from the house, but the gas found a way into the house attic and into our bedroom and down through the house and basement!

Fire department came and tested and found no source from appliances so had to be the van.

No more long runs in the garage!

But, Radiator is not leaking, temp sensor is not leaking and is turning on the fan, hoses not leaking, front heater works. And all seems good.

So my blind guy radiator install seems to have all worked out despite my fear of an error.

Now to sink the van down and get it out of the garage and back into the car port.

Next on the list, try to make the house battery system safe and functional, followed by, what the heck is going on with this propane set up!
