If the seal is in perfect size, I would not cut it. I just mark the position, unbolt the roller, slide the seal over, put the roller back. Same thing on the bottom. Make sure to mark the position of the top and bottom bolts. Or you could remove the old seal, put the new one over the sliding door, stretch it a bit to get it in.
