There is no Latch @ the Front,,, The Handle controls the Latching &
UnLatching of the Latch @ the Rear & it is the correct Positioning of That
Latch that determines the the correct alignment of the Rear of the Slider
with the Body,,, There is on Most, if not all, Vanagons, what I will call a
Pre Latch that happens if the Slider is not closed firmly enough which may
be able to be adjusted to eliminate but I have never bothered to look into
that or try to figure out ~
