On mine I removed the ashtray from the dash for access to the space behind the radio and was able to feed the antenna cable from the fender area through a hole in the firewall to the underdash area, route it over the steering column and to the radio. This was many years ago but I don’t recall much difficulty or many wounds. Good luck!
