One thing to add that a Vanagon mechanic taught me—as soon as you get the
antenna unplugged from the back of the radio, duct tape a cord to the plug.
The cord will follow the plug out when you remove the aerial. Tape the new
plug to the cord when replacing and tug it right up to the radio from the
inside.
