It’s not like we do heroic bridging of ditches when out camping. Main reason is we go alone, no back up. Penalties for crazy ideas are high

But often we come across deeper than usual cross ditches in road and instead of trying to fill them in a little with rocks, bridging ladder down in the ditch makes the in and out thru ditch a bit easier

And they make great levelling ramps at camp, as I said. That’s where they get used most often
