Speaking of Cruise Control.

I have a system that was added to my 84. It worked before I got the van. Only used for about 2 years.

I’m taking it off as we don’t feel it is helpful to us.

I’ve already taken off the CV joint with the magnets and the sensor.

If someone with skills wants it we can talk about a visit and work to take out the system. Or, let me know and once removed I can let interested folks know it is available.

I’m not interested in making money on it.

I’d just like to get back a good CVjoint and shipping if needed. If I have to pay to remove it I’ll end up just leaving it.

I can look up the name and such as I think I have the info. It sits on the engine near the throttle body and pulls with a chain. The front has a lever and a couple switches. Eric Caron

The factory set up was really self contained including vacuum pump. For the automatic speed feedback was through the speedometer. If I recall you are using a speed sensor off the CV joints so the speedometer circuit should still be available. Is your set up still using throttle body and cable or some type electric throttle control? If still using conventional throttle you should be able to set up a linkage for the original vacuum operator. > > Dennis > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List <vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com> On Behalf Of John Rodgers > Sent: Friday, September 1, 2023 1:46 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: CRUISE CONTROL > > When I made my Subie conversion, I did not realize I would lose my cruise control. Is there an economical way to recover this, or do some hacks and make it work? I need cruise control but would rather not buy a whole new system.
