Hi Folks, A small suspension update. My lower ball joint boots are failing. This list made a few recommendations mostly agreeing I should change out the entire joint. I didn’t follow list advice this time. I purchased a boot from Bus Depot, I asked for two but got one, so I need to do another order, darn it. Anyway Friend brought a few specialty tools over and changed out my boot. It took about 2 hours. He tested the ball joint and it was fine. So cleaned and repacked with new boot and all back together. I wanted to see how he did it so I could do the other side, but I broke some ribs a few weeks ago and getting down was not an option. Sadly I’ll likely have to wait to have him do the other side with me. We followed up the work with a test drive and all was good. Lately, I lean toward keeping any part that is working well, as replacement part quality is so unpredictable. Eric Caron |
