 John, I know you've got your answer already, but yes...swap left & right front seats without any issues at all.  I got this tip from this List.  I did it about 20 years ago....might be time for me to switch back again....maximize fabric durability.  Tip:  clean and grease sliding rails, with Vaseline....doesn't stain carpet.
