I did get the original message. (I don't think I've ever had a problem receiving messages as some members have.)

As for advice, my experience is as follows. I replaced the boots on my CV joints a few years ago. A year or so later, I was checking under the van in prep for a trip and noticed grease leaking from one of the inboard boots. When I looked closer, I realized that three of the mounting bolts had come loose and were allowing grease to be thrown out as the axle revolved. I suspect that I had failed to properly torque them when I had replaced the boots. Tightening them properly solved the problem.
