Subject: (1) Knocking CV's (2) Ignition Switch Housing
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8"

(1) Developed a slight knock in the rear of my van. Speed of knock varies as wheel speed varies. Pretty sure it's a CV going/gone bad. Just don't know which side it's on. Is there a way to definitively diagnose this and on which side as opposed to having a rear brake knocking problem(which I have seen before). I really don't want to tackle this and dismantle things just to have a look unless I can positively identify the problem and get replacement parts on hand first. I would appreciate any input on this issue.

(2) Replaced ignition switch housing with new because the steering column shaft was loose in the bearing bearing. The bearing itself was non-replaceable it appeared. Within 6 weeks the steering column shaft is loose again from apparent wear and the aluminum//pot metal housing must be replaced again. Would appreciate any input on this issue.

Thanks
