 This dude was a great guy, and even moreso for the Vanagon community.  Always consistent in his advice and wisdom, yes a fountain of knowledge, and never shy to share his wisdom and experience.  A STRONG bit of wisdom I always gleaned from his posts, was to "lubricate".  Everything!  Didn't matter:  whether metal on metal for sliding parts, or for electrical communication and prevention of slow corrosion.  Whenever you had access to something, his advise was to lubricate it.  Prevents bad stuff and encourages good stuff--Scott knew what he was talking about.  And I think about Scott everytime I lubricate something.   And believe it or not, I try to pass on his wisdom to Facebook groups and the like; his reasoning was solid.  Miss him.
