Earlier I posted that my GW 2.3 new motor has oil coming out of the top of the dip stick tube when running.

It was recommended to check the oil breather orifice. I miss understood and thought this was just the opening where the large hose come off.

A friend told me there is a small opening inside. I can’t reach that with a finger or examine with a friend without removing.

So. I tried to carefully probe with a wire and felt the opening and it felt clear and the wire ws perfectly clean. The hose is clean but smells a little like grass, not really like oil to me.

So, next steps?

Should I try a different oil breather tower? Is there something else to try?

How do I inspect the orifice correctly?

How do I remove and replace the oil tower? What seals or gaskets or care should be taken?

Thoughts, experiences, and tips very much appreciated.

The dip stick on my new engine fits snugly. More snuggly then the one on my 84 with 80 K miles, but it doesn’t drip oil.
