Hello all. My wife and i are heading out across country again.  This time it is the Big Daddy.   US Route 20.  The longest road in the United States.3,365 miles from Boston MA al the way to Newport OR.  Not counting side trips.  Oh Boy! We are travelling the same time as we usually do.  Mid May to end of July.  We do this so our New England bodies don't melt.  We plan on crossing the country via (kind of) I-70 with a dip down to Mesa AZ, then up to Durango (Great train ride there), then thru the Cascades to a little bit of the CA cost and up to Newport, Oregon, hitting National Parks along the way.  A few days there and then start the Big Daddy.Dean, you brought this up to us years ago.  Upon our trip to Iceland and Ireland last year to visit relatives (makes it affordable), I asked Diane "What's next?  She looked at me and said "We just got back!, don't ask me that now".  About a week or 2 later she said, with no prompting, "How about the Big Daddy, and here we are.  Skip, we hope to see you on the return trip in July.  You are on Rt. 20.So, we are having a hard time finding a place to stay around Reno, NV and around the Ashfall fossil beds and Iowa so far.    We are familiar with urban camping and will do it if necessary.  Emptying the porta-potty can be a pain after that) One spot which is worrisome is the Fourth of July after the fossil beds. We would like to be past Sioux City by a few hours. Anybody in those areas interested in us using their driveway?  I checked VanAlert to no avail. More to follow as we plan. Dave B.the Boston one
