HaHaHa!  Eric, you are a hot ticket.  Reminds me of the time, as a teenager, my friend and I replaced the radio in his dad's Rambler. It took a while and when we proudly presented it to him, he took one look at it and said, "you put it in upside down".  Boy, that deflated out ballon. These things happen.  Great job on assembling that mirror. Dave B.the Boston one

I had some mirror bits and wanted to to try to create a healthy brown rear view mirror.

I took a stem and froze it to make the ball smaller.  I took a brown mirror with no stem and warmed it in the house over night.  I put a bit of WD 40 on the ball and with a little effort popped it in.  Once the temps equalized it worked perfectly.

I proudly presented my mirror to my wife, who said, nice work, only it’s black!

Ugh.

So, between a worn out damaged brown one and my working nice black one, I sadly install the black one.

And, I am still a bit proud that I was able to repair the interior mirror even if I did get the color’s wrong.

Still on a quest for a brown one.

Eric Caron, 84 looking a bit nicer lately even with the black rear view mirror.
