Subject: Loose Power steering belt?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8

Hi folks,

I changed my power steering belt and Alt belt on my 84.

All is going well. I planned on checking and tightening. My alt belt is quiet and has a little play. My power steering or something makes a loud sound but it doesn’t sound like a belt to me. It happens when van first starts and is doing its first turns and movement. It stops soon and does not return.

I’m guessing it is the power steering belt, but can someone say what a loose power steering belt sounds like? Tis is more of a metallic sound and not like an alternator belt slipping.

Eric
