Hi folks,

These wheels also came on my 84. The center caps were tired looking. I was able to remove them carefully also with a thin blade or two thin blades on either side and careful prying. However, I ended up removing the wheels for an extra good cleaning and waxing any way.

Also, I considered the GE caps but in the end found some cap covers on line that is I found VW decals that fit on the original cap covers. I think they were about $10 for set of 4 shipped and they were hefty feeling. They have been on for a year and seem to be holding up nicely.

But, with good eyesight you might find even nicer decals that are meant for that cap size. I had to rely on others descriptions. I went for the VW but I would have liked something more fun. In addition to Amazon I think Walmart on line had many to offer. These are stuck on so you don’t need to remove the wheels or caps to try them out.

Eric cAron 84 and 85 Westfalias.

I want to replace them with the GoWesty centre caps. How the heck do you get the temporary ones out of there. There isn’t enough room to wedge a screwdriver in there and I don’t want to scratch up the new wheels. Should I sacrifice the plastic centres by any means necessary?? >>> >>> Thanks >>> Jeff
