Hey folks,

Happy New Year.

Here is a Real poem by a real person. Inspired by the task of restoring a Westfalia. This is from one of our West River Westies participants.

The Resurrection of Alf the Westy

A garage in Dublin this might just be heaven After being in the dark Since 2007

There’s heat here and light And constant attention New parts on the way Too many to mention

Up on a lift Inspected, assessed A new lease on life Too long at rest

The task list keeps growing Cooling, brakes, steering Engine and tranny Gaskets, seals, bearings

Knowledge from samba And local Vanagon gurus The village it takes The vintage van blues

Three days in July Bookmarked in red A return to camping Brought back from near dead

Al Carey Dublin, NH

Again, Happy New Year and I wish you many successful projects, and fun journeys ahead.
