Hello All.
It''s great seeing some chatter on the ol' list.
But to get back to what started this thread, I broke out the lithium grease and gloves and went to town. It was a bit to cold to remove the cover, but i got a finger in there and got grease on the rail, and every place else as well. The paper towels helped. Now my slider closes quite nicely. Amazing what a little bit of grease can do.
Thanks!Dave B.

Force Him! My main purpose of traveling 400 miles north and then and another 400 miles south is to meet in person the legendary Ben Tang. That is it. Burning Man Situation. Yes, I do equally quizzical adventures, I just do.

Well, Tang is going to be difficult to meet. I wasn't kidding about him floating around the ocean. He and Spicy Tuna [his wife] are real dedicated cruise hounds.
It's not even easy to get him to come to bURNINGvAN, and he's one of the founders!
Speaking of which it's time to schedule it for 2026

Personally, for me, I am going to meet this Ben Tang guy in person. Enough with decades of emails...I am going in for direct assault. I will be coming from San Diego; I have not idea of my accomodations, nor does it matter. I will accomplish somehow. I have decided no go for BBB; this adventure is more important.

Yeah, the list is, well, quiet. I blame it on BenT who is floating around the ocean these days, mostly, instead of posting to the list as god intended him to do.

Lubrication helps. I like spray on white grease for latch & hinge. My annual ritual is t remove the track cover and clean & lube the rear mechanism and lube both latches and all the rollers. (Sure wish that one of our vendors would offer a rebuild kit for the pre-’85 sliders.)
And yes, List traffic has dwindled to about nothing. We may be nearing a time when the best thing to do is just let the server be an archive. In my time, it’s gone from hundreds of posts/day to 3 or 4 a week.
