Subject: Tips on crank seal replacement
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8

Hi folks,

If you are really out there, here is a question for you.

My young GW 2.3 motor leaks a lot of oil. I’ve chased down several sources and reduced the issue. But, now it seems like the seal around the tripple pulley is likely the problem. And it may also be the oil pump gasket. My plan is to replace both.

I’ve removed the muffler and rear tin and moved the over flow tank. I have room to get a impact gun on the pulley bolt.

First I’ll remove the two belts.

What are the steps to completing this job? I do expect to have some help in putting it back together but want to have all gaskets and seals, and any other support materials on hand.

so, anyone that has done this ready to talk me through the steps? And, any other parts needed other then the seal and gasket?A friend said there is a O ring possibly needed as well.

So, here is hoping the list and the experienced folks are still out there.

Eric Caron 85 Auto GW 2.3 with GW Engine Management.
