Subject:      doing the upper bunk fold down two step

I never paid attention but I'm now noticing that on my 85 westy it takes 2
steps to fold down/up the top bunk. When I bring the front section  forward
and it's at  90 degreeIs I have to lift the rear a bit to complete the fold
down. There's a bit of fore & aft play in the front section so when folding
back up once it flops onto the back pad I need to push it back a bit to sit
straight on the rear pad. Are the hinges adjustable or do they wear out?
Years ago the left side hinge used to get hung up on that screw head but I
installed a piece of heavy plastic there so it slides smoothly over it. Are
your westys smooth folding or do you have to do the two steps too?
