Hi Mark,

FWIW, I had a problem with what I thought were noisy lifters about a year ago. I set and reset the gaps a couple of times but couldn't seem to get rid of the jingling sound that I was hearing.

Then one day when I was under the van with the motor running, I noticed that there was a hole in the exhaust piping just forward of the engine on the driver's side. I plugged the hole with exhaust-system filler and the noise went away for good.

Hope your solution turns out to be as simple as mine was.

Rick
