Mine is the same way. The heating element does work but the fridge doesn't get cold either. I believe this is the absorption type refrigeration which uses ammonia. I'm not sure what can happen to the ammonia in all those years or how it can escape, but that's probably where the problem is. Unfortunately, those fridges cannot be recharged. At least, that's what I've been told. David, if you find that I'm erring here or if you find a cost efficient solution, please let me know.
