    I too have a problem with the amount of traffic on this list -- keep
thinking of unsubscribing -- mostly because of all the non-technical 
stuff -- but then I find good solid info pieces.
   What can be done is very simple -- don't bother linking it to any of
those other groups, just start a bit.listserv.vanagon or alt.vanagon
and port this mail list to that.
Fairly easily done, and then those who get only mail
list still get that, and those of us who get newsfeeds can get that.
   Another thing that would help tremendously is if people would just
refrain from all the chatty crap -- that seems like half the volume
some days. Some people must only get this one list or something. I get
about 25 newsgroups and 8 lists, and that stuff gets old quick. Maybe
if people prefaced their subject with CHAT so that the rest of us
could just run a kill file for all of it.
   But porting it to alt.vanagon or bit.listserv.vanagon would be great.
