Martha,

Either date seems fine at the moment.  Keep us Zonies in mind in planning
the destination.  Northern/central California seems too far for just a 
weekend for us, especially we in Baja Arizona.  Also, lower deserts (Death
Valley) can start getting hot by the end of March.
