Subject: Digifant Engineering Page In Finland

For those of you with Web browsers, you absolutely have to see this weird page I discovered out there in Finland on the Digifant brain (Vanagon, 86 and up). It seems like some kind of detailed engineering discussion of the Digifant system and how to find faults with it. Point your browser at

http://www.imat.maschinenbau.uni-kassel.de/MH/edse.html

and let me know what you think!

What follows is the blurb that starts it off...

You can view the following as it is, or load it in to your web browser to see it as it was intended to be viewed (html document).

The main aim of this research project is to combine a diagnostic expert system with a trouble-shooting handbook. A pathfinder module puts the hypotheses generated by the diagnostic module into the context of related knowledge, so that the human operators can better verify the proposed solutions. This results in a very flexible man-machine co-operation. The approach has been used to support fault management for the "Volkswagen Digifant" motor management system and a photovoltaic inverter.
