I second (third?) checking out the ball joints. The boots on most (if not all) of our ball joints are cracked, and we developed a terrible ee-ee-ee-eeee....e-ee (sounds just like that!) noise after the dust, rocks, and incredible suspension travel of a few thousand mi in Mexico. Finally blasted loads of grease into the joints via the convieniently cracked boots, et voila!
