Subject: Outrageous Prices.

Now, I know that we drive our dubbers because we love the ride and uniqueness of haveing a VW.

I was checking out an auto auction page at: http://www.syspac.com/~bjackson/index.html

and this is what I found: (These are all real prices that people actually paid of these cars)

1955 VOLKSWAGEN BUG CONVERTIBLE Color: IRIS BLUE Sales Status: SOLD Cylinders: 4/234 SUNCHRD Sales Price: $ 22,500.00 Cu. in: 1192CC/36HP Steering: LEFT Condition: EXCELLENT

1966 VOLKSWAGEN MICRO BUS DELUXE 21-WINDOW Color: SEA BLUE/CUMULUS WHITE Sales Status: SOLD Cylinders: V4/GEAR REDUCTION Sales Price: $ 24,000.00 Cu. in: 1498/53 Steering: LEFT Condition: EXCELLENT

1969 VOLKSWAGEN BUG CUSTOM CONV Color: RED Sales Status: SOLD Cylinders: 4/4 SPD Sales Price: $ 12,000.00 Cu. in: Steering: LEFT Condition: EXCELLENT

Hell, with prices like this, I figure that I MAY just take that welding and painting class at the community college. Then go out and scour the junkyards and old barns of this great land.

Yahoo, Im sitting on a gold mine! (Or the ground, if I don't weld up that rust spot on the seat tracks!) -- -- Chris Chubb (cchubb@ida.org) - (703)-845-2287 [Alexandria, VA, USA] ____________________________________________________________________ \All opinions expressed or implied may not reflect those of the \ \Institute for Defense Analyses, the US Government, or anyone else. \ --------------------------------------------------------------------
