Has anyone checked out the new VW TDI (Turbo Direct Injection) diesel?  
(Well, read about it anyway, as its not here yet).  90hp@4000rpm, 
149lb.ft.@1900rpm.  Estimated 40/50 mpg (City/Highway).  Top speed of 111 
mph.  0-30 on par with 16-V GTI.  Nearly as quiet as a gasoline engine.  
Wonder if I could adapt it to my dying '81 Vanagon. ;-)
