*exactly* what I was talking about.  Maybe I have just been aware of a
simplified version of rich/lean tho.  I based my comments on what I saw 
when adjusting idle mixture screws on carbs.  Turn the screw in (less fuel
per unit air) and CO goes up.  Let the screw out (more fuel per unit
air) and the HC goes up.
