Dennis, maybe you could explain to the list exactly what a leakdown test is. I've heard this term several times but don't exactly understand how the test is done, how it's supposed to work, etc. Is this something you can do yourself or does it require special tools?

You are leaking fluid somewhere and the system may need to be bleed. External leaks are usually easy to find. Heater core leaks and internal leaks more difficult. Consider having engine leak down tested to ensure no internal leakage of coolant into cylinders or worse, combustion gases into colling system. Dennis.
