Oops! Sorry... my knowledge of VWs is mostly on the upright-fan engine
cars-- all type-1s, type-2s '71 and older. My apologies for the wrong
info!

So... whare IS the pilot bearing on an '88?

And, where is it on a normal '80 Vanagon? Mine may be different from
"normal", of course, with the Chevy engine and mostly-VW flywheel).
