Okay, so it's a cheap thrill, but I figure Digest 1000 will probably become like the hitchhiker's guide to the VW, so I thought I'd send a note. OBVW: all I have for measuring temps is a thermometer that won't do deep enough into the diptick hole. Temps at the exhaust typically run 350-375. This could be a good thing...or a bad thing. I don't know. I do know where there's a cooking supply store, though and I'm thinking of visiting soon so I can probe deeper, into the oil beneath the dipstick hole. 8) Joe ---------------------------------------------------------- Joseph F.
