Subject:      Help: electro magnetic cut off valve

Hi

can anyone tell me if running my 2ltr '78 without the electro magnetic 
cut off valve (Haynes page 54, item 60) for a while would be a problem?
There are twin carbs if this helps in giving any answer.

I am trying to get a replacement but not at the costs around here!
