Today I repaired the sliding door on my vanagon. It had been REAL hard to slide open. I found that the plastic guide on the rear hinge was worn out and wouldn't hold the roller/hinge straight on the track. On my '80 this part was riveted on and I thought I was gonna have trouble replacing it, but the dealer had the replacement part (about $4). I just drilled out the rivet and used a bolt to reattach the new guide. Lubed everything up and it works like a charm! Just in time for a season of camping. The wife and kids like the door to open - go figgur <<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>> <<>> Don Geiger <<>> <<>> '80 Westy in NJ <<>> <<>> dgeiger@k2nesoft.com <<>> <<>> www.k2nesoft.com/~dgeiger/volks.html <<>> <<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>>
