Durby, California prices are unique, so this may not be a fair comparison. I bought my 87 Vanagon Wolfsburg in January 1995 for $6500. It had 80k miles on it and a brand new engine. I bought it at the dealer who had done the engine replacement and also got a 12 mo/12k mile warranty. If that van were here (Louisiana), I'd think the price a little high (not too far off tho). As it is in California, it's probably fair. Before purchasing it, however, I'd really recommend taking it for a long test drive (at least an hour of good driving to get it completely warmed).
