List Folks,

I've kinda been inundated with requests about the exact source of of the VW ADE industrial engine. When I first started this project and posted to the list, I explained that the supplier had no desire to have his company associated with an automotive news group. I've respected his wishes to date. I would suggest to those of you who are interested to contact VW Industrial Division and ask for a list of their dealers. A word of caution; if you do contact VW Ind Div, you will have to tell them anything other than that you plan to put this engine into a vehicle. These engines are used for many purposes, generators, stationary pumps, hydraulic pumps, etc...It's up to you to tell them whatever you want. It's very odd that you can talk to a VW automotive dealer and they will quote you a price of around $12,000 for the same engine, piece by piece. Yet they claim to have no knowledge of whole engines. These things all come from the same source. Different marketing, I imagine... I'm sorry I can't be more specific but I gave my word. Bob Bellanca
