Annyhow, by 'rebuilding' I don't mean buying new internals, just that they may be 'unsnapped' & if you're carefull re where all the little springs etc go you can clean up the contacts, reverse the slider bar, slop on a little contact enhancer, snap back together & they'll go another 100K.

ps - beats the ~$70 the dealer gets for my latest 'switch' - a '92 GTI.
