Subject: 84 Wolfsberg westie roof outlets
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

I have an 84 Wolfsberg Westfalia GL and I am not getting any ventilation from the two roof outlets above the sliding door. I slide the lever D in the operating controls and nothing happens.

I looked up there above the slider and into the vents and see foam blocking the ventilation channel in front of, behind, and between the two ventilation channels. No surprise why there is no outside air flow.

Is this foam suppose to be there? The manual puts an asterisk next to both references to outside air flow in passenger compartment. The footnote says "where applicable". The foam has so far made it not applicable but did VW intend it to be that way?

Has anyone else seen foam up there blocking the vents? Anyone have any imaginable reason why it is there? Prior owner never mentioned it. Looks like I might have to remove poptop bed to get vent channel off in order to remove the foam

I imagine it would be nice to get fresh air back there. The rear seat heater works so I can make it warm back there for my kids.

All help and comments are appreciated.

-peace
