There really isn't much to it. On mine I was able to get access from the hole in the top where the ash tray goes. I don't know how that may have changed over the years. I just pushed the radio as far in as it would go and looked to see where it was hitting, and then heated with a heat gun and pushed the plastic back with a piece of wood and held it until it cooled. I used the wood rather than the radio because I wanted to have a little bit of clearance behind it when it was installed. I also put a piece of foam under the radio to cushion it from bumps. It seems to work OK for this, but I wish it were better. Just remember that the blower is inside the housing that you are moving and you could conceivably push the housing into the blower and cause it to rub, so you should turn the blower on while you are holding it in place to make sure it isn't hitting. You could also conceivably poke or melt a hole in the plastic and this would cause a problem, so these are the only things that I can think of to avoid. Good luck. If you use a heat gun to heat the plastic housing behind the radio, you can push it back and out of the way. The whole in the dash is standard DIN, so basically any standard radio will fit. >Regarding brands of equipment, I'm partial to Becker radios (when I'm not listening to my Uher reel to reel) and Focal Speakers. > >Sincerely, >Craig Rogers '85 Wolfsburg Weekender >Ineffable Audio Unity Inc. >The song of Life envelops the timeless void. > Its name is...IAU >Specializing in Uher tape recorders. >(914) 378-1606, carogers@idt.net

Hey, GREAT tip!!!! Thanks. I think I may try this, any tricks to using the heatgun on the heater housing?
