greetings all, in practice do you really need to re-adjust hydralic valves after replacing push rod tube seals? this will be the first "real" engine work i've done since acquiring my 80 westy (only a couple months ago) so i'm a little nervous. read the replacement description on type.com tech files. seems replacing seals is easy enough but i'm afraid if i mess with the valve clearance i may screw things up.
also should having non-leaking push-rods clear up the air inside the cabin? I 've noticed lately a oil smoke haze when using the heat lately. any way to clean out the heat exchangers w/o removing or is this wishful thinking? heat exchangers seem complete and not rusty. thanks for any info. eric henning@fp.com 80 westy chalfont, pa |
