> Hey Vanagang, > Cruzing back from Santa Cruz last Saturday, my '86 developed a vibration > that was hard to figure out. At between 50-55MPH a shaking (roughly the > frequency of the revolving tires) takes place when I'm on the gas but stops > instantly when I let off the pedal. This happens on level roads and hills > and only in the above noted speed ranges. > > Any clues? Hi: I recently had the misfortune of having belts break inside my MXL tires on my Westy. I had two tires go in one week! The tires had about 1/3 tread on them. Junk now. When a belt breaks it will put a lump on the tire and deform the tread. It can make a serious bump in the wheel if it is bad enough and the bad tire is on the front. -- Todd Francis Ridgefield, Washington USA '86 Westy Syncro '91 Tristar |
