Hello- Ok, I am going to strip down my heads tomorrow and following the procedure outlined by Tim Smith (dismysterifier of corrosion of the crevice) and Dan hoag. This includes sandblasting the perimeter of the sealing surface with walnut shell and sand medias... I have never sandblasted before and am kind of warying of this (I will practice on the flanges and two cracks in my exhaust pipes which I will intend to weld up properly). Does anyone have any tips on sandblasting (I got on of the elcheapo siphon units that Dan Hoag related in his 96 post)... Even though neither of them said anything about this, I suppose I need to strip the head down (remove valves) before blasting the head as I really don't want any sand to get into the cylinders once the head is back on the engine... dave |
