Dear Volks, I am having a hard time coming to an agreement with my insurance company over the value of my 1993 EV weekender that I rolled and totalled this summer. The issue is this, they are using for comparable values straight Eurovan MV's and GL's, without the Westfalia conversion. In my local market of California, EV weekenders are very rare. In fact, there are none available. It is my position that these are rare vechicles and therefore worth more than what the Blue Book, or other book value suggests. They keep asking me, "what do you think it is worth?" And I keep saying, whatever it takes to create a local market for one in California. Anyway, my question to the list is.... If you were looking, what would you be willing to pay for the following (in California)?: 1993 Eurovan Weekender (ie, Westfalia poptop, extra deepcycle battery, curtains, etc.) 5sp, cruise control, front air conditioning, green 31% higher than average (mostly freeway) miles, Alpine stereo with CD changer, high quality speakers, and subwoofer, Custom trailer hitch attachment This, of course, is hypothetical. Your honest opinions are appreciated. In the meantime, if you know of a Weekender for sale, please let me know. Thanks, Carter PS - Does anyone know of west coast salvage companies that specialize in Volkswagons?
