Love my '84 sunroof. I decided 1/4" closed cell foam ($2.25) works better than the original factory seal ($125). As for the AC we were discussing earlier, I'll be installing an aftermarket unit from ICE (San Diego, CA 619-477-1155) that has two units; one under rear seat and one under dash; no overhead hardware but I think they;ll use the 4 stock vents above. Since they said they'd need to relocate my dash stereo for a vent, I went with the Sony "stereo-on-a-stick" approach, with the control head comfortably next to my right leg and all other components under driver seat. ---------- From: Chris Higgins To: Vanagon Subject: Re: sunroof? Yesterday a colleague showed me his 1980 Vanagon. It had a factory sunroof installed -- Biggest sunroof I ever saw! Located in the middle of the roof -- from about the front of the middle seats to about the back of the back seats. Reminded me of the cover on a dome staium. A handle on the inside roof of the Van is turned (kinda like on a Bug, I believe) and the sunroof slides straight back into the rear of the roof. Availability? Anybody's guess... This Van is for sale, I think for $650.
