In case of the AUDI 5 Cyl. swap:
Before swapping the Camper was a 2 Liter aircooled:
  12 l/100 km fuelconsumption average
After the swap the average is
  12 l/100 km
But doing only 110 km/h on German Autobahn it is
   9 l/100 km
I didn't had this with the 2L before, 115 km/h was the
average cruising speed, and I never beat that 12L limit
before the swap.

Doubling the power does not mean increasing the fuelconsumption
same time. There are some enhancements to the new engine:
higher compression ration, CIS instead of carburetors. The
cubic capacity increased only be 0.2 liter. I like
to keep my truck like driving style at low rpm.
