Subject: From Newbie to Oldie?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Reading Matthew Bulley¹s note on his upcoming trip made me realize how much I enjoy my Westy. Almost every weekend since I got it at the end of July I have camped in it ‹ mostly for dog shows, but for Columbus day weekend, just for r&r I took it to New Hampshire for a leaf-peeping trip.

I am very grateful to all of you on the list who helped me start Johann, my Westy off on the right foot, or should I say tire?

As a result of your answers to my Newbie questions, I feel comfortable about driving Johann through our New England winters, I wave at every bus I see, I no longer worry about the cost of possibly replacing the exhaust system if and when I need to, and I even figured out alternative ways to light the fridge from the list archives. I also followed with avid interest the emails and archive data on heaters and am going to get a Propex heater.

Which brings me to my first question as an ³oldie?² ‹ namely, can anyone recommend someone in Massachusetts who can install a Propex heater for me? Even if I were mechanically ept, I would not want to try this. But I have committed to getting one, because it got good reviews from the list and seems safe, and best of all for me, will save space if I install it under the rear seat.

If you know of anyone within 50 -75 miles of greater Boston who can install a Propex heater in a Vanagon, please let me know.
